Now folks consider this too,POPS (persistent organic pollutants) present in ocean sediments are constantly being `stirred`,referred to normally as resuspension by the actions of trawling,marine exploration by drilling,the dredging of shipping channels and seismic charges used to ascertain mineral or oil deposits.
Mankind has historically used the oceans as a sink to wash away and dilute his excesses,sadly it was never a form of science that was in any way proven to be the answer.
