No take zones of trawling or fishing areas gives time for life to flourish and recover from over fishing/trawling...a simple effective answer? Yes, of course, in principle..not so much so for fishermen and their income. That, we cannot forget. However...if no take zones were mentioned a few years ago the answer from fishermen would be very negative..through teaching and communication..the message is getting clearer!
The isle of Arran, off the west coast of Scotland is one success story..here is an example.
